  I was part of a large group and we had a reunion dinner at the restaurant.One member of our group made the reservation. He specifically instructed that there would be a handicapped person attending and to make the suitable arrangements. They said that they were accessible and that they would do so. I am that handicapped individual. I use a three wheeled electric scooter for all my mobility needs. The restaurant arranged for us to be seated in a raised dinning room that had two steps into the area. When we got there, they said they had a ramp and would bring it out. But then the manager came out to tell me that their 'ramp' would only work for a wheelchair and not a 3 wheeled scooter. Apparently, the so called ramp was no more than a two track device and not a flat wooden ramp that is accessible by all. So with some difficulty and great inconvenience, our group had to relocate and luckily there was space elsewhere in the restaurant on that night. But here is the even greater rub. The manager comes out and gives me, thus all of us the customers, a hard time, saying that they didn't know that a handicapped individual was coming. Well I know my friend well (I was his best man). He DEFINITELY told them to arrange for proper handicapped seating. So rather than be apologetic to me (he'll say he was but he wasn't), he was accusing us for not making the correct reservation, when it is the restaurant who screwed up. First by saying they were accessible when they weren't, then by screwing up the reservation and finally by blaming the customer for it. The least they could have done was give us a worthwhile discount on the meal. All they did was give me a free glass of house wine, but only after my wife embarrassed them into doing it. Ye Mr. Manager, run a tighter ship. And remember, THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT.
