  This place used to be great, one of my favourites, and I don't know whether it's under new management or what, but it's really gone downhill. Went for lunch today with 2 friends -- all of us were excited about going, but it was very disappointing, and I don't know if any of us will go back, even though we used to go all the time. -Group appetizer: Venus dip and foccaccia. This used to be the main draw of Raintree. It was TO DIE FOR. This time around it was pretty good, but they'd changed the bread (and was only half-grilled) so that it wasn't as good, and the portion of dip was smaller. -Person #1: Hawaiian veggie burger -- the patty was not good at all, which is surprising given how they're emphasizing their veggie burgers now. It was mushy, bland, and fell apart almost immediately. -Person #2: Chipotle beef burger -- he said it was fine, nothing special, but the bun was soaked and fell apart almost immediately. -Person #3: small soup and small salad. She's ordered this almost every time going here, only now the salad was TINY. You'd get more at places where it's included with the entree, and here you pay separately. Pathetic. On the plus side, the soup was good. -The service was terrible (it's always been bad, but this was much worse...5 minutes for menus, 15 for drinks, the cheque never came and we had to go up, no coffee refills). -We made a reservation, but they still put us at a table near the door, where we got a freezing cold draft every time someone opened it.

  The food is excellent, the venus dip is amazing and the service is so friendly. The entire menu rotates with fantastic specials every day. I take everyone that comes to this city to Raintree, thanks to Lauren.

  Surprised I only found out about this place recently. The veggie burger had to be eaten with a fork, not something you can hold as it's very soft. But everything tastes amazing, even though there was no meat. Service was really great too! Just an absolute gem.
